About Group Therapy

Groups provide powerful experiences for individuals who choose to grow with others. It is an environment where safety allows participants to help each other, connect, lessen feeling alone, and support one another in a therapeutic way. Often, individuals who see a provider in our office will use a group experience to enliven and deepen their individual therapy. Our groups are part of an overall series, and also stand alone with a theme or topic that anchors the group. A licensed therapist facilitates each group, providing input and drawing out dynamics to promote a rich experience. Unless otherwise noted, groups are kept between 4-6 participants which allows for all individuals to contribute. All groups are 6 weeks and offered virtually. Overall, groups tend to be approachable, collaborative, and are generally more affordable than individual psychotherapy.

Series: Participants can join during any group without taking previous groups. These series are both stand alone content and also part of a series progression for those who want to continue developing. If you need help deciding where to join in, the facilitating therapist talks with each individual prior to the group starting to make sure you’re in the best fitting group. We also offer stand alone topic and audience specific groups.

Cost of Groups: Our office bills insurance for UHC/Optum and Anthem insurance plans for groups, so your insurance plan benefits will dictate the cost which our staff will help you understand. If you have a BCBS plan, our office offers a discount on the price per session. The out of pocket price for groups is $45 for each session.
