Curiosity about possibilities for my life had a huge impact on my journey to working as a therapist. A promotion to a job position that wasn’t a good fit was the spark that led me to this work. When I realized I wasn’t in a space where my true self would thrive, I began searching for another job. During my search, therapy roles resonated with my soul. It felt like I came home to an expression of who I am. To partner with people in reclaiming their strength, developing it, and living from that place. Therapy feels important to me because I have personally benefitted from excellent therapeutic care, and I want to spread that into the world. I know what it takes to do the work which can sometimes feel hard, confusing, painful, and fulfilling, and I love the opportunity to partner with people as they engage life on the road back to themselves.

You’re not weak, and you’re not a burden. Yet, you may feel the exact opposite. You may think to yourself that if you could just find out what’s wrong with you, everything would be great! You wouldn’t feel drained or frozen every time you have things to do. You would feel more clarity on what meaningful paths you want to take in your life, and you would walk them. Or maybe if you could say just the right thing, and feel exactly what you’re supposed to feel about people, places, and things, then people might accept you. And somewhere in yourself, you feel exhausted from trying to be everything to everyone else. You just wish someone else could see, respect, and love you for who you truly are. Then you would have permission. You could breathe a little better. And somewhere else inside of you, you keep feeling like there may be a world where you can exist as the authentic you that you’ve always been; strong, capable, unique, and brilliant. In feeling centered from that place, you would even know your true voice. Even though that’s not the world you’ve experienced, curiosity about the possibility may have brought you here.

In our work together, we are adventuring as partners with our safari hats towards your goals in therapy. You are the safari leader. We both have resources for your journey, and all of the resources we contribute are to find the answers inside of you. We work together to understand how you’ve survived up until this point, and explore what it means for you to thrive. I offer invitations for paths in the forest we can explore, and you have the final word of where we turn. Where we go. Where we don’t go. And there is no judgement in our time together. Instead, we safely, compassionately, slowly, and patiently explore what works and doesn’t work towards your value-driven goals that we discover and create together. We hold space for laughter, tears, head-scratches, fears, and all other feelings that may show up. We also invite silence and stillness into our time together. We anchor our work in strengthening your connection to the strong, brilliant, you that has always existed inside of you, and exists inside of you right now.
