My Approach

I grew up in Ohio and from an early age, I noticed a heightened sensitivity toward others’ pain. I  considered becoming a nurse or a teacher while in high school, drawn by the desire to care for others. But during my senior year, everything shifted when I began volunteering in a local middle school mentoring program. I was especially drawn to the social and emotional wounds that often emerge during the vulnerable years of childhood and adolescence.

In college, I met a social work professor during my very first week, and something clicked—I knew I had found my path. I went on to earn my Master’s in Social Work and began my career working at a nonprofit on the west side of Chicago. For 13 years, I served in a youth mentoring program, supporting junior high and high school students as they navigated complex emotional, relational, and developmental challenges.

After starting a family, I spent several years balancing full-time work with raising two young children. Eventually, I transitioned into part-time counseling work, seeking a better rhythm that allowed for both meaningful client work and presence at home.

Take your next step toward growth.
